A new way of estimating the spatial and temporal components of the Vertical Total Electron Content gradient based on UPC‐IonSAT Global Ionosphere Maps

چکیده
The determination of the ionospheric perturbation degree is essential to describe ionosphere state for space weather monitoring. A new method estimating spatial and temporal components Vertical Total Electron Content (VTEC) gradient introduced. based on VTEC estimated at each grid point Global Ionosphere Map (GIM) by UPC-IonSAT research group Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Depending requirement, gradients can be derived selected regions or points GIM a global scale. According comparison with previous studies over Europe region during quiet two severe geomagnetic storms, has proven reliable great potential monitoring In addition, associated warning disturbed might available in context on-going development real-time GIMs.
